Maddie does not drink nine coffees a day

Coffee Quest #28 - Industry Beans (and the BEST cookie I've ever had)

Are you in Melbourne? You lucky bastard, you've got access to the most unique cookie I've ever had on Little Collins St.

On my final day of the trip, I really, really wanted to come back here. But then I thought, nah, it's fine, we should try something new. THIS IS MY BIGGEST REGRET. I THINK ABOUT THIS COOKIE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. (unlike the Roman Empire)

It's a wattleseed cookie! The texture is somewhat similar to a sable. There's something else mixed in the flour too, and my best guess is almond flour. This cookie is EXACTLY how I like them done: texturally interesting, good smell (honestly, wattleseed is just fantastic in aroma and taste), and very little sweetness. Even the chocolate chip on top is a dark chocolate that doesn't overwhelm and compliments nicely.

Afterwards, I spent an entire hour reading about wattleseed and how Indigenous Australians used them. Pity they don't sell them in New Zealand. I would love to try and reverse engineer the recipe. It's just so unique and interesting. I'm really not joking that I still think about this cookie a lot.

Oh yeah, there's also coffee. I had their Rose Street blend. Picked up some caramel-ish and light sour fruity notes. It's got an acidity that I enjoy but it's a bit harsher than I'd like. Still a good coffee though, and honestly already much better than 95% of the coffees we have in New Zealand. Would recommend.

It's Melbourne, yeah? It's great.

If I ever come back, this will be my first stop. Hell, I'll take their entire stock.
